\n5th September 2015: A night around KL in places I hadn’t brought my camera to before! Here’s Blue Elephant<\/b>, a speakeasy.<\/p>\n


\nI really was there for Gaslight Cafe<\/b>.<\/p>\n


\nCool entrance. A lot of old decor.<\/p>\n


\nYup, this place is something.<\/p>\n


\nDiner booths!<\/p>\n


\nAll this built by the owner.<\/p>\n


\nOld-school fridge! (There’s a working double bass next to it.)<\/p>\n


\nOld-school microphone!<\/p>\n


\nA nice, cosy gig venue.<\/p>\n


\nPower switches.<\/p>\n


\nAll this, in the neighborhood of Bukit Damansara.<\/p>\n


\nReal cosy.<\/p>\n


\nMusic was played on vinyl.<\/p>\n

\nSudar pimping a Jeffrey Lewis & The Jrams gig.<\/p>\n

\nThis insanely random and amusing performance artiste read out of a motorcycle rider’s curriculum.<\/p>\n


\nSudar provided more sound effects.<\/p>\n


\nA moment of silence… not. They were thinking hard to figure out where the buzzing sound was coming from, to exaggerated comic effect.<\/p>\n


\nIt’s okay man, it’s okay.<\/p>\n

\nSudar is electronic.<\/p>\n


\nIbrahim is organic.<\/p>\n


\nI see an act this crazy on average, once a year.<\/p>\n


\nCrazy screams. Like Mike Patton but random and funny.<\/p>\n


\nKimberley, who was in town for a short while, led me down the evening’s itinerary.<\/p>\n

\nThen, we took an Uber to downtown KL.<\/p>\n


\nAnother speakeasy! Omakase + Appreciate<\/b>. I always assumed the secret entrance was somewhere else for some reason.<\/p>\n


\nThen, a true underground hidden club.<\/p>\n


\nThey have rules.<\/p>\n


\nUnder9<\/b> has cool brickwork!<\/p>\n
