As I&#8217;m not too familiar with the genres I&#8217;d say Radiohead comes to mind.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/usto5.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>I&#8217;d first heard of Leslie Low, bandleader, on the Junk Vol 2 CD. His mellotron on <i>All Things New<\/i> was an instant favorite.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/usto4.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>The music with the band was harder, though.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/usto6.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>The documentary was eye-opening &#8211; it started with the history of the Singapore music scene (or lack thereof) due to government clampdown.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/usto7.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>How ironic it is now that international bands play there and not here, even if we promise you can mosh and crowdsurf here.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/usto8.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>One more of this <i>otai<\/i> and his shiny guitar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>5th May 2016: The OBS: A Singapore Story Documentary Screening + Album Showcase at The Bee, Publika.
