13th August 2009 was a special edition of Moonshine – it was the Moonshine Tribute Edition! Each band would pay a tribute to one particular band.<\/p>\n


\nPitbull Inc.<\/b> covered Tenacious D<\/b>! I have to say Steven really embodies Jack Black when he rocks out.<\/p>\n


\nStorm The Gates<\/b>! Lee<\/b>! <\/p>\n


\nKickapoo<\/b>! (Yes, that rockin’ song from Tenacious D In The Pick Of Destiny<\/b> where a young JB argues with his dad.) In movie sequence, there was KG’s intro song Classico<\/b>!<\/p>\n


\nYou could tell they were having too much fun playing the songs – and we had too much fun rocking out with them!<\/p>\n


\nMaster Exploder<\/b>!<\/p>\n

I do not need, (he does not need) a microphone (a microphone)
\nMy voice is f–king, (f–king) powerful!
\nAaah! Arghhh!<\/i><\/p>\n

+10 points for actually having his voice come out of nowhere without a microphone!<\/p>\n

Then came Karate<\/b> and F–k Her Gently<\/b> (with the gestures).<\/p>\n


\nWho be that masked man?<\/p>\n


\nThis is not the greatest song in the world…<\/p>\n


\n…this is a Tribute<\/b>!<\/p>\n

Every little solo and lick was covered. Honestly the best tribute band that night!<\/p>\n


\nOh yeah, I dig the new background lights in Laundry Bar.<\/p>\n


\nI really didn’t recognize Amanda<\/a> there!<\/p>\n


\nMari Soul Faith Leaper<\/b> was next, covering the Foo Fighters<\/b>!<\/p>\n


\nThey played My Hero<\/b>, D.O.A.<\/b>…<\/p>\n


\n…newer song The Pretender<\/b>…<\/p>\n


\nand not-so-new No Way Back<\/b> and Best Of You<\/b>.<\/p>\n


\nI guess I was hoping for more classic stuff from The Color And The Shape<\/b> or their self-titled album.<\/p>\n


\nNext up – HamsterDamnAged<\/b>, covering the Yeah Yeah Yeahs<\/b>!<\/p>\n


\nKhai<\/a> is like… what?<\/p>\n


\nThey covered Rich<\/b>, Date With The Night<\/b>…<\/p>\n


\n…Men<\/b> and Tick<\/b>.<\/p>\n


\nSharon does an excellent Karen O!<\/p>\n


\nWhen you have an all-girl band you gotta have a girl drummer…<\/p>\n


\n…and a girl guitarist.<\/p>\n


\n“Yeah we don’t have a bassist just like them Yeah Yeah Yeahs.<\/i>” Not that they need it – they already pull off high-octane punk with just 2 main instruments!<\/p>\n


\nEnding the night was Auburn<\/b>, covering what was obviously a strong influence in their music – Silverchair<\/b>! I myself didn’t realize this until later exposure to early grunged up Silverchair.<\/p>\n


\nAizat Amdan AF5 sings along to Without You<\/b>.<\/p>\n


\nLong time no see Natalie on keyboard!<\/p>\n


\nThey also covered Asylum<\/b>, The Greatest View<\/b> and Slave<\/b>. I remember wishing they played Untitled<\/b>!<\/p>\n
