We had Jakling, a model, work with us to get these shots. This would be a great opportunity to see what this 24 megapixel APS-C sensor camera could do!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/jakling2.jpg\"><br \/>\nThe pop-up flash was used to trigger an off-camera HVL-F58AM flash in this one.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to <b>Michael Chee<\/b>, our tall Voice Activated Lightstand!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/jakling3.jpg\"><br \/>\nWide, with the Sony 16-50mm F2.8 DT SSM.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/jakling4.jpg\"><br \/>\nThese are all JPGs straight out of the camera.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/jakling5.jpg\"><br \/>\nI think this was the High Contrast Monochrome picture effect.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/jakling6.jpg\"><br \/>\nThis, the Posterization (color) effect.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/jakling7.jpg\"><br \/>\nPosterization (black and white).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/jakling8.jpg\"><br \/>\nSoft filter. I love how it treats overexposure!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/jakling9.jpg\"><br \/>\nSmile Detection, with the LCD screen turned to face her so she could see herself smiling. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/jakling10.jpg\"><br \/>\nBokeh from the 16-50mm is, well, average. 28mm F2.8.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/jakling11.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>Top<\/b>: Lens correction off.<br \/>\n<b>Bottom<\/b>: Lens correction on.<\/p>\n<p>This feature only works for four lenses at the moment:<br \/>\n1) Sony 16-50mm F2.8 DT SSM<br \/>\n2) Sony 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 DT SAM<br \/>\n3) Sony 55-200mm F4.0-5.6 DT SAM II (note that this is not the same as the screw-driven Sony 55-200mm F4.0-5.6 DT)<br \/>\n4) Sony 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DT<\/p>\n<p>Sony plans to add support for more lenses with firmware updates.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/jakling12.jpg\"><br \/>\n45mm F3.5 ISO100 1\/250s.<\/p>\n<p>I tweaked the levels slightly on this one. Note where the shadows are. This is also a portrait-oriented crop of a landscape shot.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/jakling13.jpg\"><br \/>\nThis is a 100% crop of the above picture, not from the JPG, but from the RAW, processed with Adobe Camera RAW 6.5. (As always, ACR and Lightroom get the RAW support first.) I have intentionally pulled the shadows and restored the highlights so you get an idea how far a RAW file from the A77 can go. I could&#8217;ve pulled the shadows more but it would&#8217;ve looked very unnatural.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, the shadows do exhibit some noise, but remember that I pulled it from pretty much black into midtone territory, making it no longer ISO100!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had a chance to try the Sony Alpha SLT-A77 thanks to Sony.
