{"id":1818,"date":"2013-11-05T17:22:30","date_gmt":"2013-11-05T17:22:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/?p=1818"},"modified":"2016-05-08T20:01:13","modified_gmt":"2016-05-08T20:01:13","slug":"space-rocked","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/?p=1818","title":{"rendered":"Space, Rocked!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/mdtkl2.jpg\"><br \/>\n7th July 2012: Mull; Debauch To Kuala Lumpor (Component Two) at The Actor&#8217;s Studio, Lot 10.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/mdtkl1.jpg\"><br \/>\nStarting the show was experimental rock band <b>Space Gambus Experiment<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/mdtkl3.jpg\"><br \/>\nThere was plenty of screaming&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/mdtkl4.jpg\"><br \/>\n&#8230;but no actual vocals. Here&#8217;s to expression.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/mdtkl5.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>Reset To Zilch<\/b> was next. Note the stage deco, with a skeleton in front of the drumset.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/mdtkl6.jpg\"><br \/>\nThey played what I&#8217;d call modern space rock.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/mdtkl7.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>The Psalms<\/b>, with a screamer vocalist, reminding me of Mike Patton. That is always a compliment. They had this effect much like a dubstep ring modulator, if I remember. Made me want to replicate this.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/mdtkl8.jpg\"><br \/>\nThen came the band a lot of people came for, myself included &#8211; the seminal <b>Damn Dirty Apes<\/b>!
