{"id":2180,"date":"2013-12-16T18:01:30","date_gmt":"2013-12-16T18:01:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/?p=2180"},"modified":"2013-12-16T18:04:30","modified_gmt":"2013-12-16T18:04:30","slug":"nu-culture-at-tom-dick-harrys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/?p=2180","title":{"rendered":"Nu Culture at Tom Dick &#038; Harry&#8217;s!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh16.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>Nu Culture<\/b>, down at Tom Dick &#038; Harry&#8217;s Live @ Pavilion, on the 25th of October 2012.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh2.jpg\"><br \/>\nThey comprise of some familiar faces to me &#8211; like <s>Chad Smith<\/s> Jared of The Ramanados.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh1.jpg\"><br \/>\nThey did covers, keeping the funky groove of <i>Michael Jackson &#8211; Rock With You<\/i>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh8.jpg\"><br \/>\n&#8230;and the white soul of <i>Bee Gees<\/i>, with both <i>Love You Inside Out<\/i> and a jazzified <i>Staying Alive<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh4.jpg\"><br \/>\nHowever, they were soon joined by a familiar face &#8211; Herman Ramanado!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh6.jpg\"><br \/>\nGregory Ramanado, infectious as ever, introduces his brother on stage.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh7.jpg\"><br \/>\nThe audience clamors for more.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh10.jpg\"><br \/>\nHerman&#8217;s buddies from International College Of Music also join him on stage&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh11.jpg\"><br \/>\n&#8230;for a virtuoso performance. I think. I don&#8217;t remember. It is the expected norm of ICOM students to be elite masters of music.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh12.jpg\"><br \/>\nAll shots with the Sony Alpha 99 and Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 135mm F1.8 ZA.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh13.jpg\"><br \/>\nThis would be the first gig I&#8217;d shoot in a consistently low-light, low contrast situation (except when there was backlight.)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh14.jpg\"><br \/>\nA friend of theirs also came up to sing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh15.jpg\"><br \/>\nHere&#8217;s ISO6400 on the A99, with a bit of exposure boost. The look is due to low-contrast lighting.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh9.jpg\"><br \/>\nIn contrast (heh) this is what a spotlit scene looks like.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh5.jpg\"><br \/>\nI also brought the Samyang 35mm F1.4 UMC along (it was to be sent to repair by Chia Hau) for one last spin. Gotta love the lens for capturing the atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nctdh3.jpg\"><br \/>\nThis same lens took this picture, that I used for my Facebook profile for quite a while. (I accidentally wiped my original RAW setting for this, so this is a reprocessed image.)
