Here&#8217;s Reza Salleh, organizer and emcee.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee2.jpg\"><br \/>\nFirst act, <b>Brian Gomez<\/b>!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee3.jpg\"><br \/>\nThe famous keeper of Merdekarya, an awesome indie music venue that is still authentically indie. He keeps it real with shorts and slippers, because he understands Malaysian weather.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee4.jpg\"><br \/>\nOne of the few rare acts to inject plenty of humor in lyrics.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee5.jpg\"><br \/>\nAlso got a bluesy twang.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee6.jpg\"><br \/>\nThe only musician who can top him in humor is Rafique Rashid. The only. That says plenty.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee7.jpg\"><br \/>\nMeanwhile, outside, was a booth selling CDs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee8.jpg\"><br \/>\nHell Low and Azmyl Yunor recorded an EP, on cassette tape! It has to be, with song titles like <i>I Left My Father In Bukit Panjang<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee27.jpg\"><br \/>\nNext were local boys <b>Jumero<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee26.jpg\"><br \/>\nJared Lim on guitar.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee28.jpg\"><br \/>\nRyan Gomes, not related to either, who met them while playing football in their neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee29.jpg\"><br \/>\nThey play funky acoustic, laid-back music while looking laid-back.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee30.jpg\"><br \/>\nA random table outside who asked me to take their picture. Perhaps this will reach them&#8230; by osmosis.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee31.jpg\"><br \/>\nRyan teleports to the drums, and they go into a Bee Gees cover!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee32.jpg\"><br \/>\nThe crowd goes wild!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee33.jpg\"><br \/>\nMichael, the M in Jumero.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee34.jpg\"><br \/>\nThen came pure unadultered folk.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee37.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>Azmyl Yunor<\/b>!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee38.jpg\"><br \/>\nHe speaks of tales of buses and work and not working at work, and reminding you to stick it to the man because it was Labor Day\/International Workers Day!<\/p>\n<p>(I didn&#8217;t know until recently, that International Workers Day was to commemorate a massive protest that led to shorter working hours &#8211; 8, to be exact. So remember the significance of the 1st fo May when you work more than 8 hours.)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee36.jpg\"><br \/>\nHe was backed by his band, The Sigarettes.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee35.jpg\"><br \/>\nJust three. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee39.jpg\"><br \/>\nInterestingly, none of the acts had more than 3 band members.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee40.jpg\"><br \/>\nI love the lighting so much I&#8217;m going to post more pictures of Azmyl.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/msee41.jpg\"><br \/>\nHe never disappoints when it comes to ending his electric performance &#8211; here he is running into the crowd and using a metal table as a guitar slide!
