\n10th May 2014: Lot 36: Dotters’ Division<\/b>, at The Bee, Publika!<\/p>\n


\nThis time, with Kevin Ong on guitar, filling in for the saxophone leads that Audrey would usually play, as well as some solo work!<\/p>\n


\nLinet Goh, band leader and backup vocalist.<\/p>\n


\nRebecca, terrorizer of drums.<\/p>\n


\nJie Er, always hiding.<\/p>\n


\nMelissa, on expressions.<\/p>\n


\nNow one, without.<\/p>\n

Since it was Mother’s Day they did a sweet loungey cover of Boyz II Men – A Song For Mama<\/i>.<\/p>\n

It was also interesting to hear their take on Linkin Park – In The End<\/i>, besides traversing pop music’s catalog all the way back to the 60s.<\/p>\n


\nOnce in a while…<\/p>\n


\n…she’d outsource the job of singing…<\/p>\n


\n…to the crowd.<\/p>\n


\nOops I dropped my vocal cords.<\/p>\n


\nHe’s got his.<\/p>\n


\nOccasionally conducting, too!<\/p>\n


\nThe Bee’s staff sings along.<\/p>\n


\nCrinkle Cut, another band Melissa is in.<\/p>\n


\nCrinkle Cut fries respond well to sauce. So do Crinkle Cut cucumbers. I’ll never know what exactly was Crinkle Cut.<\/p>\n


\nOkay now crazy lady with sauce bottle has left.<\/p>\n


\nSoundman Mokhtar gets in on it.<\/p>\n


\nYou’ll never make me sing! Poor bear all passed out.<\/p>\n


\nNot sure where the mike went for this one.<\/p>\n


\nStrangely, I don’t remember the table near the door looking like this! I remember it being a sofa you can’t get out of.<\/p>\n


\nI thought this table was square.<\/p>\n


\nSometimes I estimate the position wrongly and end up on the other side of the table.<\/p>\n

\nTwo weeks later, 24th May 2014: Dotters’ Division featuring Sachie Amira & Kevin Ong<\/a>!<\/p>\n


\nHere’s Sachie looking all badass. <\/p>\n


\nThat role is usually Jie Er’s.<\/p>\n


\nRebecca discovers I’ve sneaked in.<\/p>\n


\nLinet attracts a lot of lame jokes. This is what happens when you tell her one.<\/p>\n


\nFirst time I’d see Audrey and Kevin on stage at the same time!<\/p>\n


\nOne thing that really sets this band apart from others, even though they only do covers so far, is the instruments used – Audrey’s lead saxophone gives many songs a different warmth, while avoiding that elevator music feeling.<\/p>\n


\nWUT?<\/p>\n

Oh yes, and the keyboard sound.<\/p>\n


\nThrow in a crazy, bubbly vocalist, too!<\/p>\n


\nThen guess who showed up after skipping work to go shopping? (Evidence is under her elbow.) As it turns out, she’d just attended a wedding.<\/p>\n
