{"id":742,"date":"2006-10-18T03:15:09","date_gmt":"2006-10-18T03:15:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/?p=742"},"modified":"2014-06-16T04:14:58","modified_gmt":"2014-06-16T04:14:58","slug":"rocktober","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/glaringnotebook.com\/?p=742","title":{"rendered":"Rocktober"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Once again, pictures from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/?p=736\">12th October 2006 edition<\/a> of Moonshine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/mslo1.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>Tan Sei Hon<\/b>, acoustic singer-songwriter.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/mslo2.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>Lightcraft<\/b>, indie pop darlings.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/mslo3.jpg\"><br \/>\nGuess which band this is!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/mslo4.jpg\"><br \/>\nYep, it&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/rhapsody-music.blogspot.com\" target=\"_BLANK\">Rhapsody<\/a>, now with a funky soloing guitarist, funky-basslining-bassist, and Jimmy of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.temperedmental.com\" target=\"_BLANK\">Tempered Mental<\/a> (not in picture).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/mslo5.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>Tragicomedy<\/b>, singing songs from his album, <b>Songs That Won&#8217;t Sell<\/b>&#8230; which is ironically, (credible) pop rock songs that will sell.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/mslo6.jpg\"><br \/>\nMy attempts to replicate the distortion of a wide 27mm lens, by doing the angle bit of it. (You can brag that your kit-lens-wearing Nikon d70s\/Canon 350D does 18mm&#8230; but sir\/maam, it&#8217;s 27mm after throwing in the crop factor.)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/mslo8.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>Stoned Revivals<\/b> from Singapore plays funky jazz rock. Somewhat progressive, with very interesting chord progressions.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/mslo9.jpg\"><br \/>\n&#8230;though technically, he&#8217;s from <b>Men Under Zero Effort<\/b>, a Malaysian band, and he plays octave\/fifth-ful basslines on guitar.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/mslo7.jpg\"><br \/>\n&#8230;so is this drummer, also from Men Under Zero Effort.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/mslo10.jpg\"><br \/>\nWe (I always fail to identify who I went to a gig with but is it relevant?) were sitting inside, and were chased out at 2am as Laundry Bar was closing. Outside, we found this on a table. Seems like some people couldn&#8217;t wait. In case anyone wonders, it is <b>not<\/b> the prophylactic itself; it is a ring that clips on and vibrates for 20 minutes, with a sealed battery inside.<\/p>\n<p>Just as soon as I thought I finished posting all the gig pictures, here comes another event:<\/p>\n<p><b>What<\/b>: Project Bazooka<br \/>\n<b>Where<\/b>: Laundry Bar, The Curve<br \/>\n<b>Who<\/b>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dragonred.com\" target=\"_BLANK\">Dragon Red<\/a> (my favorite Malaysian nu-metal band), Edge Of Fire (channels falsetto hard rock), Seven (funk\/jazz fusion with saxophone)<br \/>\n<b>When<\/b>: 9:30pm, 19th October 2006<br \/>\n<b>How Much<\/b>: FREE ENTRY!
