I came on the 16th, featuring the same launching lineup:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja1.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>Lewis Prasagam<\/b>, Yamaha endorsee and virtuoso drummer. 210mm F4 on the beercan. (Exposure data shall tread the fine line of informativeness without being geek just yet, because I say so.)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja2.jpg\"><br \/>\nI forgot the bassist&#8217;s name.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja3.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>Jose Thomas<\/b>! Yeah he owns the bar, yo.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja4.jpg\"><br \/>\nShutter Priority, 1\/6th of a second, ISO1600 with flash, to get trails of color!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja5.jpg\"><br \/>\nDrum solo!<\/p>\n<p>Jose also did a teeth solo as is customary, and I didn&#8217;t catch it on camera. \ud83d\ude41 It&#8217;s otherwise hard to catch these veterans anywhere else than the Mont Kiara Sunrise Jazz Fest and say Alexis Bar, Ampang.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja6.jpg\"><br \/>\nI then hopped over to JamAsia, to find a ruckus going on.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja7.jpg\"><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.xanga.com\/i_want_a_djembe\" target=\"_BLANK\">Reza Salleh<\/a>&#8216;s other gig series &#8211; Feedback!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja8.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>Ziel<\/b>, mathematical metal or math-tal, I&#8217;d say.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja9.jpg\"><br \/>\nHappy headbangers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja10.jpg\"><br \/>\nFor once, a healthy ratio between female and male headbangers. Heh.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja11.jpg\"><br \/>\n21st March 2007 &#8211; College Night in JamAsia, with <b>Hotscotch<\/b>, a funky soulful rock band. I think.<\/p>\n<p>This particular gig shoot would be a bit different, because I was showing Xian Jin some shots at KLPAC, which got me thinking about shooting from such a position to get a balance of different colored stage light. The right angles would decrease dramatic shadows.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja12.jpg\"><br \/>\nAndrea can sing. She also always has a smile on her face. Good showmusicianship!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja13.jpg\"><br \/>\nCollin Nunis, blues shredder. Intentionally shot at an angle so that he would be lit evenly by both colors. I also waited for him to step under the light so his hair would be lit!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja17.jpg\"><br \/>\nHe has a most kickass funk vibe, despite having a tiny wah pedal. If you can call that a pedal.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja14.jpg\"><br \/>\nThe drummer looks a bit like Asyraf Sinclair.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja15.jpg\"><br \/>\nI went to watch <a href=\"http:\/\/necromanicide.blogdrive.com\" target=\"_BLANK\">Kingsley<\/a> rock out.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja16.jpg\"><br \/>\nAgain, I forgot the bassist&#8217;s name.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja18.jpg\"><br \/>\nShoes, for you girls.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja19.jpg\"><br \/>\nGuest vocalist.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja20.jpg\"><br \/>\n<b>Irotori<\/b>, this other thrash\/power metal band was supposed to play, but they pulled out, so Hotscotch was made to become a pub band and entertain everybody for the rest of the night.<\/p>\n<p>I screamed, &#8220;<b>FREEBIRD!<\/b>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The bassist then went, &#8220;<i>Freebird? Did somebody say Freebird?<\/i>&#8221; annoyedly.<\/p>\n<p>I later found out that the rest of the band loved Lynyrd Skynyrd, but the bassist hated the song. I won&#8217;t stop shouting &#8220;<b>FREEBIRD!<\/b>&#8221; until somebody plays it!<\/p>\n<p>The tradition is that at every rock concert (in America, at least), whenever there is a silence in the performance between songs, a bunch of drunken guys would call for Freebird. Even if it&#8217;s a punk rock band on stage.<\/p>\n<p>The more sporting ones would attempt to cover the 9-minute classic rock triple-guitar-solo fest.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja21.jpg\"><br \/>\nKingsley, master of mini percussive units.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glaringnotebook.com\/zimages\/gja22.jpg\"><br \/>\nI don&#8217;t know who these people are or how to send them the picture so here goes.
