9th December 2017: Rock The World 2017 at Car Park B, KL Sport City, Bukit Jalil.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1702.jpg)
KL Sport City is pretty, but you don’t have to walk through it to find the car park.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1703.jpg)
I came in time for Thy Regiment.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1704.jpg)
Even Bukit Jalil National Stadium in the back is real pretty! The revamp was for the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1705.jpg)
I have yet to crowdsurf.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1706.jpg)
Thy Regiment, full of energy!
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1707.jpg)
I brought two lenses with my Sony Alpha 7s. This was from the Sony Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 24mm F2.0 SSM ZA. Gotta love Eric’s expression behind as he walks through the stage! (Well I think that’s Eric…)
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1708.jpg)
This, too.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1709.jpg)
It gets close and gives enough context around the subject.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1710.jpg)
Cool shades, bro.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1711.jpg)
A wild Big appears!
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1712.jpg)
Color mosh time.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1713.jpg)
The crowd was given packets of colored powder.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1714.jpg)
On go, usually with Butterfingers – The Chemistry (Between Us) blasting on the speakers.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1715.jpg)
Some opened their packets earlier though.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1716.jpg)
Poor dude right under the right leg of the crowd surfer. At least he’s not wearing steel boots.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1717.jpg)
This crowd surfer is so familiar! I’ve probably seen him at previous Rock The Worlds, doing exactly the same thing. I wonder if he recognizes me, too!
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1718.jpg)
I don’t usually get colored despite being relatively in the action. This time was different.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1719.jpg)
Massacre Conspiracy, regulars.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1720.jpg)
It rained, and for some reason all the powder mixed into this bloody red. Slayer – Raining Blood comes to mind!
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1721.jpg)
Masdo.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1722.jpg)
They keep it old school.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1723.jpg)
Gotta love these vintage instruments!
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1724.jpg)
That and their shades.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1725.jpg)
Meanwhile, in the ROTTW booth nearby, Abang Rom is having a chat.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1726.jpg)
Chaps hanging out on a wooden bicycle.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1727.jpg)
This concert was sponsored by Tune Talk.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1728.jpg)
This is not my food truck.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1729.jpg)
I really like this banner.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1730.jpg)
This is not from the banner though.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1731.jpg)
I had this for dinner. Not bad.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1732.jpg)
Gerhana Ska Cinta.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1733.jpg)
The regular big ska band!
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1734.jpg)
The second lens I brought was the Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 135mm F1.8 ZA.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1735.jpg)
Seven Collar T-Shirt. Here’s Ham, on guitar and special effects.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1736.jpg)
Here’s Duan on vocals, guitar, and feeling.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1737.jpg)
The 135mm always comes in handy for drummer shots.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1738.jpg)
Zip Zieller.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1739.jpg)
Rock and roll is gold.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1740.jpg)
Naratu.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1741.jpg)
Ijam, also of Restraint, who would announce his departure from Naratu on the 2nd of January 2018.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1742.jpg)
Big the emcee, in the artiste lounge.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1744.jpg)
Punk-faced Bunkface.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1743.jpg)
Nope I don’t know what’s up with the camel.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1745.jpg)
Then came the last act…
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1746.jpg)
Emmett I!
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1747.jpg)
The band featured all my friends. Here’s Josh from Seven and Tokyo Blue, or at least how I remember him.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1748.jpg)
Izuan Shah of Auburn.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1750.jpg)
Julian Lim of The Infernal Conundrum and Bokazzi.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1749.jpg)
And of course, Emmett Ishak, most known as the vocalist for the now disbanded Butterfingers.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1751.jpg)
He brought back his grunge glory days, singing in English.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1752.jpg)
Still the rock powerhouse.
![](http://glaringnotebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rtw1753.jpg)
A guest drummer came on stage. It was Loko, his bandmate from Butterfingers!
So you had the regular crowd-pullers – such that Rock The World has been the same – and yet, differently, I’d noticed that they have been very strict to the schedule, which I could really appreciate since I could leave after the concert finished and still take the LRT!
Hello! I am interested in talking to you about Rubik’s cubes. Please email me.
Thanks so much,
Asher
